“Grindr for Equality” Needs You!

We are very excited to announce the official launch of Grindr for Equality, a social movement that unites our worldwide community of over 3 million guys around GLBT issues. The power of Grindr for Equality to spur action across the globe has already been proven with several initiatives around the most significant recent recents in the GLBT community.

In light of the appeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” we launched a national broadcast message welcoming in-the-closet service members to Grindr with a link to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network’s contribution page. We used geo-targeted messaging to keep our users aware and active around the overturning of Proposition 8 in California and the passage of marriage equality in New York.  In one of our largest victories, a petition denouncing St. Petersburg, Russia’s ban on ‘gay propaganda’ was circulated through a broadcast message that resulted in more than 57,000 clicks!
