At the end of last week, the polls closed over at About.com’s Readers’ Choice Awards. When the dust settled on the voting for Best Dating App, Grindr was the last man standing. That’s right — we won!
Grindr is the first-ever exclusively gay app to win this category, and we beat out five other contenders and scored a whopping 74 percent of the vote. That’s astounding! According to About.com, “There were more votes cast in this category than all nine [other options in the Best Dating Sites, Book and Blog category] combined … All these sites have huge membership numbers … but in an unexpected coup, innovative gay dating app Grindr took a huge lead and eventually won this category.”
